Mini TV is ad-supported and is available within the Amazon shopping application. Contents on it includes web series, comedy shows, tech news, food, beauty, and fashion. This new application will be in addition to Amazon’s existing video streaming application ‘Prime Video’. Some of the content was produced by TVF, India's largest web studio, Pocket Ace and local comedians. Over the next few months, Amazon plans to add a range of new exclusive videos to its mini-TV network. In addition to the Android edition that is currently supported, it will also provide iOS and mobile web services.
Amazon's miniTV launch comes in response to Flipkart, a Walmart affiliate, launching a free video streaming service based on points in the Indian market in 2019. Local businesses such as Zomato and Paytm are also looking to add more videos to their app services. Since 2019, Amazon has also offered 'IMDb TV,' a free video streaming service focused on ads, in the United States.
